Leon stood, walking slowly to a bound black chest in the corner of the room. "You seem to be able to defend yourself adequately, Miss Paravel," he said over his shoulder, as he began to undo the chains on the slightly shaking chest. "I think there is only one thing that I could test you on...yes..." he flung open the chest. "The boggart inside is a rather special one." he said quietly. Slowly, a strange numbing coldness seeped into the room, and the candles faded out, guttering pitifully as their light died again. Only Leon's face could be seen, illuminated by the eerie witchlight of the Lumos spell. "The boggart responds to my fears as well as my desires. Therefore, I can show many Dark Creatures..." The boggart suddenly writhed, forming into a black robed Dementor. "Defend yourself, Miss Paravel", Leon said calmly, "I'm here if anything goes wrong..." He looked pointedly at Nick. "You'll be late for your next class if you don't hurry," he said pointedly. "I'll speak to you later."

Nick bowed half way.Suddenly nick looked deepely at the boggart.Suddenly it changed its form.Voldermort and someone nick knew very familiarly. At his feet lay a limp body.Nick stared deepely and to his horror it was his mother.Nick yelled " No!" He ran at the boggart. The boggart formed words in his mouth." Avada Kadav"Suddenly nick yelled " Riddikulus" The boggart formed another body.Nick's father. He was smiling. He held a wand.Nick yelled again almost crying " Riddikulus!" The boggart was in its original form now.Nick bowed again to Leon." Sir....I'm sorry ... i shouldn't have...I'll be back after dinner."Nick ran out the room.

Leon sighed and the boggart slipped back into a dementor. "Another twenty points for that Mr. Wade," he muttered, tightening his scarf. "Self-control, self-control." He turned to Anise. "Well, Miss Paravel, what's you're move?"

Anise nodded, hands shaking as the unfamiliar feeling of cold, chilling fear came over her again. She'd actually been a bit relieved that Nick had stepped in, but the horror of seeing those dead bodies - she had to remind herself that death wasn't an evil thing at that point - was quite frightening, even if she hadn't exactly discerned who there were. The Sixth Year was smart enough to tell, however, that they were people who Nick had cared a lot about.
Wand arm shaking furiously from the illusion of cold as the candlelight went out again, Anise drew breath shakily before pointing her wand where she thought the boggart would be, pursed her lips together in fear of the Kiss and said strongly despite her chilling almost overwhelming fear, envisioning a dementor in a bikini instead of its usual worn grey tatters, "Riddikulus!"
With a crack, the shapeshifter changed, pretty much oblivious to Anise's quavering attempts to try and repel the creature. Now, it was a snake: Anise hated snakes, and as the cobra flared its hood and hissed, black eyes fixed upon the girl. "R-riddikulus!" she cried again, imagining the snake tied up in knots.
This time it did work, and Anise smiled sheepishly when she saw how stupid the snake looked tied in a bunch of knots, its head ending up right in front of its hindquarters. She chanced a fleeting glance towards R'varsheart, before turning her attention to the boggart again, waiting much more confidently for the creature's next shape.

Leon smiled slightly. "An unorthodox attempt, but a valid one," he murmured softly, gently pushing Anise out of the way to face the boggart. The creature shifted in a multitude of scars, blazing scars that bespoke of horrible agony and anguish. Leon stiffened slightly, raising his wand without hesitation. "Riddikulus!" he said sharply, and forced the boggart back into the chest. He locked it with a wave of his wand, and turned to Anise. "Well, Miss Paravel," he said evenly. "There is only one more thing I would like you to do, so I ask you to once again, give me some more of your already used time." He handed her a piece of parchment. "Answer these, and you may go."
1) Dementors guard a wizard prison. What is that prison? And, if you ever face a dementor, how would one drive it away?
2) Describe and explain the difference between an Inferi and a Ghost.
3) The Triwizard tournament was famous for its many wizard deaths. What kind of challenges might one find in it? Describe them.
4) You are dueling a dark wizard. Describe and explain what spells you might use against him.
5) Name and explain...the three unforgivable curses.

Anise sat down roughly, though the push her Defense Against the Dark Arts professor had given her had been gentle enough. It was his boggart that had stunned her; the scars made her wonder if that was what he was covering with the black cloth. She didn't dare ask him, of course, because from his suddenly rather stiff demeanor she could tell that it was something that was personal.
Taking the parchment with a trembling hand, she pulled out her eagle-feather quill from a pocket, noting that it was crumpled and bent from her previous duel, and began to scrawl. The theoretical parts of the end-of-year exams was what she was often best at, even though Charms was her best subject when it came to actually doing the spells and the practical parts of the exam. It had only been the reassurance that a teacher was nearby that had ensured Anise her boggart's momentary defeat during her second attempt.
1) Dementors guard a wizard prison. What is that prison? And, if you ever face a dementor, how would one drive it away? Dementors are the guardians of the wizard prison Azkaban, maintained by the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, which is located on a tiny island in the middle of the icy North Sea. The proper name is Azkaban fortress, but most call it the wizard prison or just plain Azkaban. There is no need for walls or anything but the dementors, which have only revolted twice in the history of the fortress, both times in which they joined up with their former master, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. The ordinary dementor can suck any happy or optimistic thoughts out of a wizard instantly, provoking the mentioned wizard to go insane. They have no tangible eyes and the only way they can senses others around them is by sensing for emotions. The worst thing they can do to a person is suck out their soul by means of the Kiss, which is the only reason they lift their hood - to suck out one's soul through their mouth. However, if you are ever attacked by a dementor, you can use the Patronus Charm, an advanced piece of magic most grown wizards can't even attempt, to drive them away; the incantation for this charm is 'Expecto Patronum.'
2) Describe and explain the difference between an Inferi and a Ghost. To raise an Inferi is a very dark piece of magic attempted only by Dark wizards. The incantation for this ressurection of dead bodies is only known by a few. Inferi are not, however, truly alive; they are only puppets at the whim of whomever brought them back. They have no blood and are somewhat like zombies, though they are also very vicious and bloodthirsty. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is among the Dark wizards in history who have used these creatures. On the other hand, ghosts are imprints of dead wizards that are left behind by their living selves when they die, and are not considered Dark creatures at all, though some can be very malicious. Very few wizards choose this path, but over twenty of them live inside Hogwarts' walls. They don't need to feed on anything, are not solid, and glow a pale grey hue in the dark. The House Ghosts are Nearly Headless Nick (Gryffindor), the Bloody Baron (Slytherin), the Grey Lady (Ravenclaw) and the Fat Friar (Hufflepuff). Other ghosts include Moaning Myrtle and the retired Professor Binns.
3) The Triwizard tournament was famous for its many wizard deaths. What kind of challenges might one find in it? Describe them. The Triwizard Tournament is now known as the QuadWizard Tournament, due to the opening of a new wizarding school in Italy called Everguard Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There are many new safety measures put in these days, but before, there were fewer known spells and such to prevent the injury and sometimes even death of Champions. In the history of the Tournament, there have been four mutilations, one homicidal murder by Muggle means, two murders by wizardly means, seven fatal injuries, twenty serious injuries, three mysterious disappearances, four suicidal murders, sixty-four major or moderate injuries and two-hundred and fifteen minor injuries. The challenges one would expect to find in the Tournament test several things of a Champion: mental abilities, magical abilities, emotional endurance, physical endurance, preparation, and a number of other skills. In some ways, they can be seen as quite cruel; in the past, challenges such as fetching golden eggs from dragon's nests, taming rampaging hippogriffs while warding off a manticore, and magical mazes have been set against Champions; some are even so popular that they are repeated from time to time, such as the magical maze aforementioned.
4) You are dueling a dark wizard. Describe and explain what spells you might use against him. In a duel with a Dark wizard, wizardly skills would most likely not be enough. One would need endurance and resilience as well, lest they use spells such as the Sectumsempra incantation and the Unforgivable Curses and try to either kill you or take control of you with either Curse. The Shield Charm, in order to deflect the least of his spells, is best, because Stunners and the Impedimenta Curse, while simple, are very effective when used properly. You should also be prepared to use those spells yourself, as well as others such as the Full Body-Bind, the Bat-Bogey Hex and the Disarming Charm. The first of these spells uses the incantation 'Petrificus Totalus' and causes your opponent to fall over due to the fact his entire body has become frozen and incapable of any movement whatsoever. The second causes your opponent to sprout flying boogers all over his or her features, which will attack him or her using small sprays of mucus and divebombing techniques. The third, which uses the incantation 'Expelliarmus', causes whatever your opponent is holding to fly out of his hands and away from him; this can be used to get your opponent's wand away from him and so make him helpless to wizardly techniques of harm.
5) Name and explain...the three unforgivable curses. The Imperius Curse - The incantation for the first of the Unforgivables is 'Imperio.' This Curse is used to control any living being, but can be fought off by strength of character. This is the Curse that was used by the Death Eaters and other followers of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named to force others to do their dirty work. It was also used as an excuse by some for the reason they became Voldemort's followers, though most were uncovered by means of potions such as Veritaserum. The Cruciatus Curse - The incantation for the second of the Unforgivables is 'Crucio.' This Curse is used to cause extremely pain to any who feel its magic, and when used for a prolonged period, it can make a person go insane; it emits a flash of red light when used. This is the Curse that was used by the Death Eaters and other followers of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named to cause extreme pain to those who didn't believe in what they did. It can eventually kill, but usually only causes an excrutiating pain. The Killing Curse - The incantation for the third and worst of the Unforgivables is 'Avada Kedavra.' This Curse is used to kill a person instantly with a flash of green light. This is the Curse that was used by the Death Eaters and other followers of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named to murder half-bloods, blood traitors and Muggles, as well as those who didn't believe in the idea of pure-blood supremacy.
Handing the piece of parchment silently to Leon, the Ravenclaw folded her hands in her lap and waited to see what R'varsheart thought.

Leon scanned the parchment silently, absently adjusting the neck of his black scarf. "Hmm, yes, I do believe that you underestimated your own abilities. One last thing again, Miss Paravel", he said, smiling slightly. "Then you really can go. It's getting late." He turned, looking at everywhere and nowhere in particular. "Do...you know how someone looks when they have suffered an attack by a dark wizard?"

Anise shook her head, braids bouncing momentarily as she answered quietly, "Thank you, professor. No, professor. Should I?"
Her brow furrowed, wondering if this was part of her test even though her heart said it wasn't. Picking at a hangnail, her hands were all but idle in her lap as she looked up at the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, squinting a little as she attempted to see where it was going before ducking her head down again, pale cheeks reddening slightly.

Leon smiled again. "So innocent," he said quietly. "It's time you knew. Tell no one, not even the teachers, of this." he turned, slowly unravelling his black cloth. His scars were stark white against his skin, standing in angled relief in the flickering light. "I have devoted my entire life to dueling and Defense against Dark Arts." he said evenly. "I have shown no one, but one who underestimates herself such as you...you have talent. Which is why I have decided to test you today. You're dismissed."
